4th NOAA Workshop on Leveraging AI in Environmental Sciences has ended
The interactive workshop will be a virtual event to build collaboration and initiate the active development of AI-powered applications and community standards.

We invite developers, data scientists, domain experts, social scientists, and downstream users to form small teams around different use cases that are relevant to three themes relevant to NOAA Mission Areas: Fire Weather and Impacts, AI for Ocean Conservation, and Interoperable Digital Twin Earth.

I graduated from Middlebury College with a joint degree in Biology and Environmental Studies and from the University of Maryland, College Park with an MPS in Geospatial Sciences.  I joined the NOAA’s National Centers for Coastal Ocean Science (NCCOS) in 2005.  Since joining NOAA NCCOS, I have worked as a principal investigator on a variety of projects, characterizing, monitoring and modeling marine ecosystems in the coastal waters, territories and flag islands of the United States. My research interests include novel applications of state-of-the-art remote sensing and commercially available geospatial technologies. I'm currently is co-located with the Channel Islands National Marine Sanctuary in Santa Barbara, CA.
